Fundraising Events

Annual Patrons' Ball

The Annual Patrons' Ball is the signature event of the OSF St. Mary Foundation. Each year, a committee of dozens of community members come together to continue a tradition of spectacular events and highly successful fundraising that funds a particularly important project at the medical center.

The 16th Annual Patrons' Ball was held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Soangetaha Country Club. 144 people attended the event which was themed Run for the Roses. The inspiration for the theme was drawn from the Kentucky Derby, which like the Patrons' Ball is always held on the first Saturday in May. In honor of the event, Eichhorn Jewelers donated a 1.5 carat T.W. circular diamond pendant. The retail value of the prize was $4,000. Mrs. Karen Hawkinson was the lucky winner. Our special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eichhorn for making the "Winner's Circle Diamond Pendant" Raffle possible.

The funds that resulted from Run for the Roses, totaling over $90,000, will support the Outpatient Medical Imaging Department with the purchase of a fixed site Bone Density Scanner.

Employee Campaign

OSF St. Mary Medical Center employees also give generously to the Foundation, helping to purchase needed equipment and support new services and programs. An employee campaign is held each year in March, organized and promoted by the foundation staff and a committee of volunteer employees. Since 1994, OSF St. Mary employees have contributed nearly $500,000 to the medical center. OSF St. Mary is a very special place where employees are so dedicated and motivated to making positive changes for our patients.

Going "Above and Beyond"
OSF St. Mary Medical Center Employees have contributed over $55,000 to the OSF St. Mary Foundation through the 2010 Caring-Sharing Employee Campaign. The theme for this year's campaign was, "Above and Beyond", reflecting a new addition to the Employee Campaign. Our project for this year is a DEXA machine for the Outpatient Medical Imaging department, but the new addition is that 10% of the total amount raised will go to the Above and Beyond Fund! The Above and Beyond fund as it is now called, was "The Employee Relief Fund". All participating employees received a retractable name badge holder with the campaign logo.

Employee Campaign
CommitteeContributions to the campaign will help with the purchase of a fixed-site Bone Density Scanner (DEXA). Osteoporosis has a higher incidence than Heart Attack, Stroke and Breast Cancer combined. We are currently capturing only 25-50% of the screenings that a facility our size should do because the machine is only available one day a week. A DEXA machine could also do fracture assessments and body composition analysis, something our present machine cannot.

Above and Beyond is a fund that we have here at the Medical Center, which gives us the opportunity to help our co-workers who may be having financial difficulties on a confidential basis.

The Employee Campaign committee hosted a celebration thanking all participating employees on Thursday, April 15th. Special thanks to our committee members: Shannon Jansen, Marketing; Shelley Willett, Patient Services; Jody Rinker, Volunteer Services; Mindy Thurman, Outpatient Medical Imaging; Wendi Hook, Medical Imaging, Sue Kohler, Human Resources; Jennifer Talbert, Central Scheduling; Sandy Pemberton, Fund Development; Linda Hawkins, Fund Development; Stephanie Bittner, Rehab Services; Joyce Juergens, Supportive Care.

To participate now, download the Employee Pledge Form and return it to the foundation office. For more information on the Employee Campaign, please contact us at (309) 344-3161 x4192.
