Auction Benefits OSF St. Mary Breast Cancer Support Group

News Releases | Breast Cancer Support Group AuctionOSF St. Mary Medical Center is pleased to announce it raised over $2,000 for its Breast Cancer Support Group.  The OSF St. Mary Foundation held a silent auction during the month of January for an autographed photo of former Green Bay Packers Brett Favre and Bart Starr.  The photo was given to OSF St. Mary Volunteer Sarah Koons by Madeline Harlan for the sole purpose of raising money for the medical center.

The auction, which ended Friday, February 5th, netted $2,001, of which all the proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Support Group.  Rob Benedict, Owner, MSI, was the winning bidder, saying he purchased the photo to surprise his sons who are Green Bay Packer fans.

OSF St. Mary Medical Center established the Breast Cancer Support Group in October of 2008 to address a growing need in the community for women and their families to join others who were coping with breast cancer diagnoses.  The group meets monthly on the second Monday and has an average of 25 women participate.
